Independent Physicians Association of Lee County is a group of physicians who are concerned about maintaining the quality of medical care in our community. There are a variety of financial and societal pressures that are motivating change in the organization of the delivery of medical care. The status quo is clearly not the future, and significant change is inevitable. Physicians are central to the delivery of medical care and must have a voice in this process. In order to participate, physicians must be informed, and our intent is to serve as an independent source of information about local events that influence our ability to provide quality care to our community.   

IPALC is an association of physicians who value independent private practice of medicine. Our organization is open to all independent physicians practicing in Lee County, Florida. For information about how to join, please contact us.

IPALC is intended to serve an advocacy role for the independent physician. It is also intended as a source of information to help physicians make decisions about local issues affecting the practice of medicine. We encourage decisions that enable us all to continue providing quality medical care to our patients. We wish to identify and understand physician concerns and effectively communicate with the physician community, hospital board, hospital administration, and the local news media.

We encourage you to participate in our discussion forums. We need input from our physicians and other interested parties to shape the future of medical care in Lee County. We need to understand your concerns and welcome your ideas and critique. If you are not on our mailing list, please follow the Newsletter link to add your name and email to our list. There is no charge or obligation to participate, and you do not need to be a physician. Our community deserves excellent health care. The needs and perceptions of the lay public are also very important to us.

Please share or forward the link to this site to other physicians in your group or others who may be interested. All independent physicians are invited to join.

We will also need financial support from our physicians. In order to critically evaluate these proposals, we will need to hire a staff and engage independent consultants and other resources. The goal is to ensure that the physicians continue to lead the process. The more physicians who join this effort, the greater influence we can wield on your behalf.

Independent Physicians Association of Lee County is organized as an IRC 501(c)(6) not for profit corporation, and is applying for tax-exempt status. Your membership dues are deductible as an ordinary business expense.
